Wow guys, time does indeed fly. It's already December man, I'm pretty sure it was February a week ago. It seems that as one gets older, time does tend to scatter into the abyss. If it wasn't for my PDA, my diary and secretary, I wouldn't know Arthur from Martha.
As usual, the pace at the office and everywhere else is flying towards the end of the year and most of us just hope that we can keep up. If you live in South Africa you will be bombarded with 2010 Football fever. The highways are being fixed, the stadiums are close to complete and the Group Draws are behind us. All we can do now is get behind our various teams and hope for the best. The 2010 Soccer World Cup in South Africa is going to be HUGE! If you don't know what I'm talking about, it's time to invest in some serious google'n.
At LR the year was a quiet one. We've added new DJs, some have left but, still we remain strong and at the Edge of Online Entertainment. If you haven't tuned into DJ Pagan's absolute flawless tunage you have missed a reason to live. The man is an absolute genius when it comes to producing and has magical fingers that know every tweak, every scratch and every possible filter. The man is a godlike legend. DJ Zaptoid has been with us for a while now, but I haven't gotten around to adding his BIO and playing times. Dude, I cannot apologize enough. But, seeing that you prefer the shadows, I figured you wouldn't mind(heh). The funny thing about DJ Zaptoid, nobody really knows who he is. I call him a he, because he says he is a he. *laughs* Ok fine, the dude is a dude. Before he kicks my ass >:p
DJ Me0wand DJ arcaine has been leading the pack with their darker side of the music genre. All the way from the USA, these two are an absolute killer combo. Even though they don't play at the same time, their music will always be intertwined by their love for each other. You guys rock >;]
There's so much to do here on LR that I sometimes wonder how everyone gets time. Yet, things get done either way. That shows the true dedication of the LR team. Kudos to the DJs !
While typing this article I've got the very first POD Cast that DJ De1ty and I did blaring on my speakers. It's funny but, we've come a far way since 2007. Ranging from audio clarity to the ability to speak utter crap. Make sure you don't miss our December 2009 POD Cast. It's going to be a ripper!

Johannesburg - The Nelson Mandela Foundation was not organising former president Nelson Mandela's 90th birthday party, the foundation said on Wednesday.
The foundation had received enquiries about the celebration in Qunu - a village close to Mthatha in the Eastern Cape where Mandela spent his childhood.
"This (birthday party) is a private celebration that has not been organised by the Nelson Mandela Foundation but by members of Mr Mandela's family," said the foundation's CEO Achmat Dangor in a statement.
"As we have said before Mr Mandela will celebrate his birthday in private with his family and friends.
"The family has said this is a private function and we ask people to respect their request for privacy," Dangor said. - SAPA
Mean Mr Mustard band member Freddy Hayward has died after an apparent heart attack, Eastern Cape police said on Sunday. Hayward complained to band members of chest pain after a performance on Saturday night at the Kirkwood Wildlife Festival in the Eastern Cape, spokesperson Gerda Swart said. The bass guitarist and backing vocalist for the band, who was in his thirties, was immediately attended to by paramedics and taken into an ambulance. He died on his way to hospital, apparently after suffering a heart attack. A post mortem would be conducted to determine the cause of death.
Sapa Sadly this chap has only recently joined the band and I feel that it's an epic loss. Not only to the band but to the South African Music Industry. What a muso man. Guy was really kick ass. Our hearts go out to the families. - LR

We recently cought wind of some really bad service at Mr Price Home. Now, I know that a hell of a lot of people have been experiencing issues at Mr Price.

"... About a month ago, we bought a dining room table at Mr. Price Home. We actually wanted the darker one (which they didn’t have in stock), and asked the sales assistant to phone other stores to check who has. He disappeared for 15 minutes, and when he returned he said that he could reach only two stores, and neither of them had. He added that he could not get through to any other stores, as none of these were answering their telephones. I called bullshit, and asked for the store manager, who wasn’t there. They gave me a cellphone number for Renier, the operations manager, who said he would find the table and get back to us. In the meantime, we called 32 stores, and only one of them bothered to answer the telephone.
Renier did call back, to tell us that the table in the dark wood had been discontinued, but offered us a R200 voucher as a ‘gesture of goodwill’ and to give Mr. Price Home another chance. He also explained that there was an ongoing problem with the telephone system, and which they were working on. To be fair, we did give them a second chance. We went to the same store on Sunday to buy a R270 fitted sheet out of their 6-star premium collection. When we got home, the sheet was 20cm too short on one side, and 5cm too short on another. I decided to call the store, to check whether this was a mis-packaged item, or whether their standard for a queen sized bed different to the rest of the world. The phone rang and rang, and eventually got diverted to God-knows-where.
A little frustrated, we went back to the store (tape measure in hand) to check the others, and exchange the sheet for one that would fit. It turned out to be poor workmanship on the sheet, which we swopped for one that was the right size. I asked the assistant store manager to check what the issue was with the sheet, and send me an email in the morning. I also asked her to check why their telephones were still not working. I received an email in the morning from the store manager, in which I found out she had asked the QA manager if she in turn could assist in this matter, as I am “very difficult and do not want to hear that it is bulk production.”. I replied to this email and repeated my question about the telephones which are still out of order. The store manager called me, and asked for some time to investigate. As my phone was lying next to my keyboard on speakerphone when I spoke to her, I did not terminate the call, and instead waited for her to disconnect the line. To my surprise, I heard the store manager and the assistant store manager continuing to discuss this issue. They were quite insulting about me, and made light of the complaint I made. I decided to keep listening, and also record the rest of the conversation. Here is a recording of what was said:
